Islamic Online Madrasah (IOM) is an Islamic educational institution. For the sake of discipline, some rules and regulations are provided for the students. All students are requested to follow these rules.
Class-Related Policies
- For all brothers and sisters
- Under no circumstances should anyone turn on their video.
- If you disagree with the teacher on any matter, inform him respectfully. Do not do anything that would be disrespectful to the teacher.
- Refrain from writing unnecessary things in the Zoom app's chat.
- Refrain as much as possible from asking questions on topics outside the specific subject of the specific class. In Fiqh class, ask questions only about Fiqh. If it is very urgent, you may ask after the lesson is taught and subject-related questions are finished, with the teacher's permission. For any fatwa, posting it on this website will, insha'Allah, get an answer within 24-48 hours.
- Try to use the last 15 minutes for subject-related questions.
- Please refrain from suddenly interrupting the teacher and saying something irrelevant, which distracts his attention. Let the teacher finish first, then you can state your point.
- You must provide your roll number. Attendance will not be counted without the roll number.
- For brothers
- When speaking on the microphone, ensure there are no undesirable sounds around.
- Since sisters cannot speak in any class, brothers should ensure that sisters are not disturbed or face any problems because of them.
- In classes like Tajwid and Dawah, where brothers need to recite with the teacher, try that only 2 or 3 people who have microphones and are in a noise-free environment keep their microphones on, while the rest remain muted.
- Since sisters cannot ask questions directly, sometimes teachers may not notice their questions. It is better if brothers mention these questions to the teacher during the Q&A session.
- For all sisters
- In combined classes, video and microphone must not be turned on under any circumstances. Only in the special classes for sisters, they may speak on the microphone.
- You must not send private messages to brothers.
- Many sisters accidentally turn on their microphone. In many cases, it has been seen that some have their video on. This makes all students and teachers embarrassed. These matters must be specially taken care of. For this, some precautions can be taken: You can cover the camera lens with a piece of paper, tape, or something so that even if the video accidentally turns on, it cannot be seen. There are some apps that fix the screen. If such an app is installed, just swipe down from the top and lock the screen. Then, no matter how much you touch the screen, nothing will work. Only tapping 2/4/5 times on the designated area will unlock the screen. This will not cause any problem in attending the class.
Fee-Related Policies
- The monthly fee for Alim and other single courses is 500 Taka, and for expatriates it is 1000 Taka. For details about fees, click here.
- Those whom Allah has granted financial solvency are requested to pay the full semester fee, i.e., 6 months' fee of 3060 Taka at once. Because keeping this account monthly is very time-consuming. However, only those with financial difficulties may pay monthly or every 2-3 months.
- The fee for each month must be paid by the 10th of that month. If the payment is not made by the 10th, the campus account is closed. Therefore, if payment is made after the specified time, an additional 100 Taka must be paid to reopen the campus.
Re-Admission Policies
- Re-admission fee is 1020 Taka.
- If there is a gap of more than 1 year, one must continue from the first semester.
- After that, the Readmission form must be filled out correctly. Note: For re-admission into a new batch, i.e., the 1st semester, there is no need to fill out this form.
Rules for Sisters' Special Classes and Sisters' Discussion Room
Conditions for joining:
1. Only sisters (apura) will join these classes.
2. The class links and IDs are different from other links. These links or IDs must be kept as private as possible. These links must not be shared with anyone.
3. In these classes, sisters can also ask their questions directly by voice.
4. Under no circumstances should anyone turn on their video. Because even if someone's husband or mahram accidentally appears, there should be no problem with hijab.
5. It must be strictly maintained that no male person sits in front of the computer during class time.
6. Even your mahram male should not sit in front of the class. Because even if he is your mahram, he is non-mahram for the person conducting the class.
And it is requested to strictly follow the above matters on your own responsibility for the sake of Allah.
Rules for the Discussion Room:
1. Two or three classes will be discussed daily.
2. For each subject, one student should be selected as the teacher (ustadhah) and the class should begin with her. If there is discussion on two subjects, two sisters will act as teachers and help the others. Everyone will participate equally in the class, but the teachers' responsibility is to maintain class time, topics, etc. Those who act as teachers should take the responsibility, for Allah's sake, to ensure that everyone benefits, learns, and that time is utilized well.
In the case of Tajwid, those who scored the highest marks in the exams should try to be the teacher if they are present.
3. The class will start with checking everyone's spiritual state, such as who is praying Tahajjud, who is missing prayers, who has read how many paras of the Quran, etc.
4. At the end of each day, decide which classes will be held next day and who will be the teachers, by consulting everyone's opinion. It is better to change teachers daily. Do not impose the responsibility on one person.
5. In discussions, no discussion on madhhab or manhaj is allowed. All madhhabs or manhajs are, Alhamdulillah, correct. However, since 95% of our students are Hanafi, when discussing prayer or other matters, the Hanafi ruling should be discussed, and it should be said that the rules followed by others are also correct. Because IOM's objective is not to establish any particular manhaj or madhhab, but to make everyone a da'i and a person of faith.
Facebook Group and Group Chatting
Regarding posts and chatting in the Facebook group
IOM is a family. And we are all members of this family. In other worldly groups, there is some worldly interest behind gathering. But joining this group is for learning Deen and pleasing Allah. Only students can join this group. Insha'Allah, if Allah wills, we hope to remain in the group until our last day.
Besides studying and sharing handnotes, we also expect some other things from members of this group.
Today, the practice of Deen has almost completely disappeared from our society. In our society, the amount of sin committed in one day at a wedding is more than the total sins of everyone in that area for a whole month. Death has become a reason for reunion. Today, when someone dies, relatives from home and abroad gather. And instead of praying for the deceased and reciting, they start sharing feelings about meeting everyone after so long.
Considering these matters, we want that the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) stood by each other in birth, death, marriage, and every matter. We also expect the same from IOM.
1. If any of our members has a baby, everyone will pray for them in class, insha'Allah, so that the newborn can become a da'i of Deen all over the world.
2. Many of us look for a pious groom/bride. In this case, since we have gathered on this platform because of our common interest in Deen, a confidential system has been made on the website to collect CVs of those brothers and sisters who are looking for a pious spouse. If the requirements of the groom and bride match, then, insha'Allah, contact will be arranged between the bride's mahram guardian and the groom's guardian. This is also entirely for Allah's sake.
And this is not possible for the admin alone. For this, we need a husband and wife, both of whom are enrolled, and they are in two different groups (brothers' and sisters').
The Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
"When a servant marries, he has completed half of the Deen. Then let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half."
And whoever helps in this matter solely for Allah's sake, Allah will surely reward him.
3. If any of our parents, husband, or wife passes away, if you inform the group, the teacher will be informed in that day's class, insha'Allah. The teacher will pray for their forgiveness along with all IOM students, insha'Allah.
4. If any student among us passes away and we are informed, we will do several things, insha'Allah:
a. We will officially announce the place and time of the funeral prayer. Nearby students will attend the funeral, insha'Allah.
b. Everyone will pray for the forgiveness of the deceased brother/sister.
1. Political posts: Political posts should never be given in the group or chat. It is natural that different students may have different political ideologies. But there is no need to make everyone agree with my ideology.
2. Religious controversial posts: Any controversial post that could create religious disputes should not be posted or shared. Only motivational posts may be shared.
3. Madhhab disputes: IOM is always respectful of all madhhabs and manhajs. Any post or discussion that creates disputes about madhhabs is not allowed, neither for nor against. IOM believes all madhhabs and manhajs are correct. On the other hand, differences between madhhabs are mostly limited to nafl (voluntary acts). There is no disagreement among them regarding fard (obligatory acts). Therefore, there is no room to create disputes about nafl.
4. Malice: One may not like a particular scholar personally. But posting or sharing posts that mock anyone is completely forbidden.
5. Collection of donations: To post or chat about collecting money for any institution or individual, you must have the admin's permission. Any kind of donation collection without the admin's permission is completely forbidden.
Some Special Cautions Regarding Chatting:
1. Wasting time: Instead of wasting time in unnecessary chatting, if that time could be spent in recitation or some amal, how nice it would be. It should be remembered that chatting is not part of madrasah studies.
Moreover, any official notice will be given in the group and in the message group as a post and as a pinned post. It is not necessary to be active in chatting for important notices.
2. Chatting time: Chatting should be limited to a maximum time from 10 AM to 11 PM. Because if someone misses Tahajjud or loses Fajr due to chatting after 12 AM, it may become a sin.
3. Spend time with family: Instead of wasting time in unnecessary chatting, it is better to spend more time with family and children. Because the class times are the madrasah times. Times other than classes are not madrasah times.
4. Turn off chat notifications: Continuous notifications due to others' chatting may be annoying. So, you may turn off chat notifications.
5. Turn off chatting during class: Please do not chat during class time.
6. It is forbidden to share links related to other organizations in any IOM group.
Regarding Payments:
Payment of semester or monthly fees:
Those whom Allah has granted financial solvency are requested to pay the full semester fee, i.e., 6 months' fee of 3060 Taka at once. Because keeping this account monthly is very time-consuming. However, only those with financial difficulties may pay monthly or every 2-3 months.

Method of fee payment:
Monthly fees must be paid through the portal. If someone pays manually, they must fill out a deposit slip. If payment is made through the portal, there is no need to fill out a deposit slip.
Payment of semester fees for expatriate Bangladeshis: In case of semester fee payment, for expatriate brothers/sisters, the monthly fee for the Alim course or any single subject is double the fee for local students. However, the admission fee is the same for everyone.
If anyone has a problem, they must apply for a scholarship. If expatriates deposit the local fee, the semester fee will not be counted.
Regarding Fatwa:
IOM has an Ifta board with multiple members to answer questions on various issues and mas'ala.
In class, it is forbidden to ask any kind of fatwa except class-related questions.

Regarding Examinations:
For class tests, other subjects have MCQ; Tajwid has viva. In the semester final, there will be an exam of 100 marks for each subject. For corrections in exams or any other matter, you must inform support.
Notice on exam results and promotion to the next semester
Tajwid Notice: In the Tajwid final viva, if one scores 70% in tilawah, they will be considered promoted to the next semester. If they score less than 70%, besides continuing to the next semester, they must continue mushq (practice) in any mushq group of the junior batch according to their convenience, and they must attend regularly and submit their recitation. In this case, attendance will be counted. At the end of the semester, the attendance of that mushq group will be checked. If the attendance is less than 80%, they must enroll in the single Tajwid course and continue again.
Regarding subjects other than Tajwid: Those who have scored 40% in each subject have, Alhamdulillah, passed and will be promoted to the next semester. Those who have scored below 40% in more than two subjects or did not take the exams will have to take a 'retake' for those one/two courses in the next semester.
(There is no opportunity to retake more than two courses in one semester. If one is absent or fails in three/four courses in one semester, they will be considered failed, and they must drop the semester and re-admit.)
What is a course retake?
Those who have scored below 40% in at most two subjects or did not take the exams have been promoted to the next semester, but they must continue the one/two courses they failed in the previous batch along with the next batch (must take a retake).
Rules for taking a course retake:
One must pay a retake fee of 500 Taka per course and must inform support in detail. Then the failed courses from the previous semester will be added to the new semester's courses in the campus.
In this regard, it should be noted that for the exams of the retaken course, you need to take only the exam in which you failed or were absent in the previous semester. (If you failed the mid exam, you will take only that exam during the mid exam time with the next batch, and inform support about the obtained marks.)
If the above-mentioned retake conditions are not met in someone's case, they cannot take a course retake arbitrarily.
In Arabic, if the total of MCQ and written combined, including class tests and mid terms, reaches 40%, it is considered a pass. If someone has taken the MCQ and thereby gets a total of 40% including class tests and mid terms, they will be considered as passed. The same condition applies if only the written exam is taken.
What is a course improvement?
If one gets lower marks than expected in a particular subject, there is an opportunity to update the marks by taking an improvement exam in the next semester.
Note: Improvement can be taken in a maximum of two subjects, insha'Allah.
Rules for taking a course improvement:
One must pay an improvement fee of 500 Taka per course and must inform support in detail. Then the courses for improvement from the previous semester will be added to the new semester's courses in the campus.
After taking the exam, if the obtained marks are higher than the previous marks, you can inform support and get the result sheet updated, insha'Allah.
